Where do these times come from?
Times are sourced from the Aladhan prayer-time API, which is widely used by mosques and Islamic apps. The exact minute depends on which calculation method you select — different organisations use slightly different angles for Fajr and Isha. Always confirm with your local mosque.
Why do different mosques have slightly different times?
Mosques use different calculation methods (e.g. ISNA, Karachi, Umm al-Qura, Egyptian) which differ in the angle below the horizon used for Fajr and Isha. The differences are usually 5–15 minutes. Pick the method your local mosque uses for the closest match.
What is Sehri / Suhur and Imsak?
Sehri (also spelt Suhur) is the pre-dawn meal eaten before the fast begins at Fajr time. "Imsak" is a precaution time about 10 minutes before Fajr — some prefer to stop eating then to be safe. The fast begins at Fajr.
What is Iftar?
Iftar is the meal that breaks the fast at Maghrib time (sunset). Many people break their fast with dates and water following the sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.
Can I use this calendar offline?
Yes — once loaded, the calendar is cached in your browser. You can also download the .ics file to add the entire month to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, etc., and you'll get reminders even offline.
I see "City not found" — what now?
We verify every city against OpenStreetMap before showing prayer times, so typos and fake city names get rejected. Try: (1) spell the city in English ("Karachi", not "کراچی"), (2) use the nearest large city if yours is a small town, or (3) make sure city and country actually match (e.g. "Paris" + "France", not "Paris" + "Pakistan").
Are the dates exact?
The first day of Ramadan depends on local moon sighting and may shift ±1 day from the calculated estimate. The prayer times themselves (Fajr, Maghrib) are very accurate and don't depend on moon sighting.
